Affirmations Don’t Really Work…
until you know what they are, understand them and how to use them, practice and experience their results. Whether you are a Reiki Master Teacher or just practicing Reiki for your personal growth; incorporate affirmations with your Reiki practice.
What is an Affirmation?
An affirmation is a statement expressing a desired outcome that you say to yourself. It puts you in a frame of mind that assumes that your goals are achievable and possible. It keeps your mind focused on your outcome. When used repetitiously, it becomes firmly planted in your unconscious mind, your thoughts, your energy and spiritual self; eventually what you have affirmed for becomes a reality.
Keep the following points in mind when crafting affirmations
1) Phrase them as if they are occurring in the now. For example; If your outcome is to become a more confident person, a suitable affirmation might be: ‘I am becoming more and more confident. I am feeling better and better about myself’.
2) Phrase affirmations in terms of what you want rather than what you don’t want, a negation, same as the Secret (law of attraction). For example; ‘I am not a self-conscious person’ instead ‘I am becoming more and more confident, content and fulfilled’. The brain cannot evaluate ‘not self-conscious without thinking of being self-conscious. For instance, when someone tells you ‘Do not think of a pink elephant’ What are you thinking of next? Also do not say ‘I have no self-doubt’ You get reminded of having self-doubt.
3) Do not give affirmations specific deadlines, for instance, ‘In three months time I will become a more confident person.’ Firstly, it might take more than 3 months to achieve that. Secondly, your unconscious mind might want to work on your goal now.
4) Craft or pick affirmations to work on that resonate with you the most, at that particular point in time.
5) Remember, energy follows thought.
6) Saying out loud has impact, but nowhere the same impact on your feelings and behaviors as hearing the same things inside your mind. If you are telling wonderful things on the outside, but hearing a critical, demoralizing voice on the inside telling you that you are fooling yourself, your internal voice’s suggestions will win every time. To overcome this, it is best to do internal programming of affirmations at the alpha level of mind.
7) Affirmations are “most powerful” when combined with visualizations, in a meditative state of mind and incorporated with your Reiki Practice.
NOTE: We interact not only on a verbal level in relationships, but also on an energetic level. We are picking up each others’ thought and feeling vibrations all the time. Hence, it is important to “affirm” that the energy exchanged is predominantly based on love and compassion.

Self Confidence / Self Esteem / Self Love Affirmations
It is important to love yourself in any relationship, for when you love yourself it is easier to love someone else. Not only that, you also become very attractive and lovable to your partner.
It is hard to generate positive thoughts about your relationships if you can’t generate positive thoughts about yourself. You can use self love affirmations to help you in this regard.
· I am a radiant being, full of vitality, enjoying life to the fullest..
· I am becoming more and more self-assured, calm and confident.
· I love life and life loves me.
· I am a beautiful being of light.
· I love myself unconditionally for all my perfections and imperfections.
· My inner light shines brilliantly from within me.
· The infinite love of Source is filling me.
· I am acting from my Higher Self.
· I look in the mirror joyously and say “I love you. I really love you.”
· I release “with love” all past perceived wrongdoings of my partner.
· I honor who I am.
· I see the world through eyes of compassion and acceptance.
· I willingly release any need for struggle or suffering.
· I deserve all that is good.
· I choose to be at peace with myself.
· I choose to feel good about myself. I am worthy of my own love.
Suggestions- to use affirmations effectively
1. Meditation. Say affirmations to yourself silently while meditating or relaxing deeply, especially right before going to sleep or right after waking up.
2. Write them down. Take a particular affirmation and write it down ten or twenty times in succession, really thinking about the words as you write them down.
3. Recording and listening to them. Pick 3 affirmations at a time. Record and listen to them once a day. Affirmations recordings overlapped with *binaural frequencies can be very effective in embedding the suggestions deep in your subconscious mind.
4. Most importantly say it sincerely and say it with conviction.
