Reiki Maturity…..

As humans we all display various levels of maturity in our behavior. Generally we would expect that people behave according to the levels of maturity of their years. In    other words, a forty year old would act like a forty year old and a twelve year old like a twelve year old, and so on. However, we all know that this is not the case. Many adults never develop beyond a childhood level of functioning and some teenagers’ function at the adult level early on.

As I see it, there are also several levels of spiritual maturity

• Infant
• Adult
• Master
• Angelic or God-like

As we grow from infant to adult we have more and more experiences and develop a greater capacity to digest and understand the events that life has to offer. Experience brings you greater wisdom.  One can be a fully-grown person and not be mature, or they can be a person young in years, but be very mature spiritually, emotionally and mentally.

I feel that man, in his imperfect state, can with some effort attain to the Master level of human or spiritual maturity, not to say that there may not be humans at a higher vibration or Angelic level, there may be?

As you mature, you become more flexible. You have a greater capacity to find peaceful solutions to your differences with others. You become more independent, ultimately achieving interdependence. With greater spiritual-maturity comes more kindness, compassion, and respect toward others, along with self-love, self-confidence and clarity of purpose.

People that have reached the Adult level of maturity emphasize
“being” over “doing” – Quality rather than Quantity

Your view of life is to emphasize the good rather than the negative, you don’t get too disappointed if things don’t go your way, you just re-evaluate to see what you need to do differently. You realize that there is always something to learn from every situation. You know that failure doesn’t mean defeat, and success isn’t always permanent. Instead of resisting life and what it has dealt, you find a way to adapt to it, take the suffering out, and find the good.  You live by the principle that you cannot harm others without somehow harming yourself in the process.

Spiritual Maturity is a learning process “a journey to self-realization”.
As you mature, you also learned how to learn,
and therefore how to solve problems quickly.

• You are a highly capable person who has experience and wisdom and do not get caught up in petty obstacles or gossip.
• You are honest with yourself and others.
• You have healthy boundaries.
• You know when and how to say “No” when it’s in everyone’s best interest. You believe and practice The Secret (law of attraction).
• You have succeeded in pausing and balancing your thoughts with your emotions and actions. Therefore, your approach is usually appropriate to a given situation.
• You are stable, you know what you stand for and stand for it.
• Instead of complaining, you quietly take action that will solve a situation that created a  problem.
• Rather than blame others when things change direction, you accept responsibility and seek to correct the problems and you look for the lesson at hand.
• You have the capacity to forgive yourself and others. You speak in simple terms that are easy to understand.
• You trust and communicate with the language of intuition.
• You have respect for all living things, and the resources of the planet
• You know self-love and do not judge others for who they are.
• You may have your own situations or problems, but are not afraid to ask for help when you feel you need it.
• You are aware that successful living means cooperation with other human beings. While pursuing personal and spiritual growth, you will contribute to the welfare of others by modeling adult behavior described at the beginning of this article, adult maturity teaches by example, you are real, genuine and humble.

Reiki is as Mature as you treat it.

In other words, reading the meanings, learning the Reiki Principles, symbols, techniques and talking the language are just the
infant level of maturity to this healing art.

Reiki Maturity is the capacity to experience, process and live your spiritual journey selflessly by becoming more aware with time and practice. You learn to maintain a balance of emotions, rationality, and action. You display wisdom and are only interested in the truth. You focus on the greater good of humankind. While you know yourself well, you are not focused on yourself. You are kind but firm, serene and tranquil. While not perfect, you have mastered your negative personality traits so that you are no longer controlled by them. You are motivated by love and compassion rather than money, fame, or power. You neither judge nor condemn, you have a genuine love for people in all walks of life, and leave judging up to a Higher Power.

From my current perspective; the difference between a Reiki Practitioner and Reiki Master is the level of maturity, education, experience and discipline. I guess you could say that the qualities of the Reiki Practitioner also become more refined in becoming a Reiki Master or Reiki Teacher.

• Can you achieve “Reiki Maturity”? Of course you can!
• Can you achieve the level of Reiki Master? Yes you can!

Although it will take time to process your personal journey to achieve your goals. It is one that is certainly worth striving for. If you haven’t already begun, then now would be a good time to start.
