Ghosts or Spirit Guides?

I recently held a Reiki Circle with several teenage girls and with years of experience as a Reiki Master; for the first time I was asked this question….. “The love and innocence in this group warmed my heart”.  I would like to share with you my answer….

Q. Are my Spirit Guides Ghosts and is that The Secret Of Reiki?

A. No! Tana Hoy, one of my many teachers explains this well… what are spirit-guides?

Guides and Angels progressed spiritually to the point that they have no more lessons to learn here on earth, so they work in the spirit world with those of us here on the earth.

We all have spirit guides around us.  Usually they have been with us since birth, often times they were our spirit guides in previous lives, too.

Remember that a spirit guide, unlike a guardian angel, has had a physical human form at one time and has help us progress along our own spiritual paths.  They will not impose their wills on us, so once we discover through a psychic medium the names and who our guides are, it is up to us to start to develop a relationship with our guides.

People usually wonder why we have a certain spirit guide around us.  When our guides where living as a human, their lives where similar to ours.  They are matched up with those of us living according to the similar experiences that they had while experiencing their human existences.  Therefore, they already have the knowledge and experience to help us with our lives.

What is a Spirit Band?

A group of guides are called a spirit band.
This means a “band or “group” of spirit guides that surrounds each and every one of us, whether we are aware of them or not.  Through psychic medium it is possible to start learning about you spirit band.  Remember, a psychic does not have the ability to see and communicate with the spirit world, so a psychic without mediumship ability (the ability to talk to the Spirit-World) cannot tell you about your spirit guides or their names.

Spirit guides are totally different that Guardian Angels or loved ones who have died.  There are many different types of spirit guides that all of us have.  Each guide serves a different purpose or function.  We have never known a spirit guide in this lifetime but may have known them in one of our other past lives.

Guides Found in your Spirit Band

·    Gate Keeper Guide
This is the guide who stands at the gate and monitors and controls the Spirit Guides that are allowed to work with you.  This guide protects you from any negative presences from entering into your energy field.  Also, this guide makes sure that the s Spirit Guides who want to work with you is a good match for you.  This guide is always present.

·    Indian Guide
This is a Native American guide that most of us have.  This guide is a protector who protects you and is also one of the more common guides to come through in a first reading.  You should call on your Indian Guide for protection when you feel afraid.  Also an Indian Guide will protect you from other negative entities that may try to come around you.  This guide will be extremely protective of you, like a mother or father is with their child.

·    Presenter Guide
This Spirit Guide is the most unique of all guides because this guide does not need to be present with us all the time.  This guide will always work with other people on the earth.  This Spirit Guide is to help those who have died to be able to raise their vibrations high enough to make communication possible with those of us here on the earth.  This guide is not always necessary, because many times the person trying to speak through the Psychic Medium has a strong enough vibration to make communication possible without any assistance. This guide is usually only present with young babies or young people who have died, people who have just recently died, or someone who does not have a strong enough vibration yet needed for communication.  Sometimes seen when the very old are trying to communicate with us.

·    Joy Guide
These guides are little children in the spirit world.  They only come around when you are feeling sad, depressed or just unhappy.  Their main purpose is to cheer you up and bring you joy.  You call on this guide when you are feeling down.

·    Philosopher Guide
This guide works with you on developing your thought processes.  You would call on this guide anytime you are trying to keep an open mind, change your negative thinking, or when you want to look at a situation from all sides before making a decision.

·    Doctor Guide
These guides are doctors who at one time lived on the earth.  This guide works with your health and health conditions.  You should call on this guide when you are sick or making health decisions and this guide will guide you.

·    Professor Guide
This guide will help you in learning, studying various subjects or anything related to gathering knowledge in your life.  There can be more than one professor Guide in you Spirit Band, each with a different expertise or knowledge.  You call on these guides for business guidance, career guidance, and financial guidance or anytime you need to have a direction that requires knowledge beforehand.
