What is your Reiki Lineage?
When you become initiated as a Reiki Master, you become part of a lineage. Every Reiki Master has a lineage, and mine is of traditional Usui Reiki, which means it goes back to Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki from Japan.
Reiki lineage refers to the line of Reiki Masters that leads to the student. For traditional Reiki the line begins with Dr Usui, and continues with one of his Reiki Masters, and then to one of theirs and so it continues. For a healing system to be called Reiki and be recognized as such, the lineage must trace back to Mikao Usui.

As you can see, I initiated and learned the practice of Reiki, then attuned to the Master Reiki Teacher level through two Reiki Masters, Ariel and Michele, who also had the privilege to do the same. I have personally learned through each Master’s teachings in all forms, books, Reiki-Circles and practice.

I have been blessed to meet several Masters in Reiki Circles throughout Southern California. Knowledge, commitment, integrity, discipline and practice have been “keys” to learning the healing art of Reiki.

Many of us feel a need and desire for healing in our lives which may lead us to want to learn Reiki. The Usui System is simple to learn. The capacity to use universal life energy for the purpose of healing is conferred by a Reiki Master through initiation and through a specific form of teaching. Relationship with a teacher is vital to initiation. Through exposure to a qualified and experienced Reiki Master we gain inspiration, confidence and trust. We make a strong link not only with that teacher but with the entire lineage of masters associated with the practice, going back to Mikao Usui himself.
